Introduction
IQAC was established in the college in the year 2010 following the UGC guidelines to help the institution in achieving academic excellence in conformity with its vision and mission. IQAC plays a pivotal role in institutionalizing quality assurance strategies for the realization of the goals of quality enhancements in a sustained manner. The IQAC formulates yearly ‘Action Plans’ for quality improvement of various aspects of the institution which are implemented with the active engagement of other committees and liaison officers in the departments. Later, yearly AQARs are prepared for timely submission on the NAAC portal. All these activities are coordinated and monitored by IQAC and periodic reviews are taken through regular meetings. Some of the quality parameters that are initiated and monitored by IQAC are: Monitoring of academic activities. Revision and enrichment of course curriculum. Generation of e-content. Facilitation of online classwork, Webinars, etc. Modernizing and enriching the college library. Campus beautification, recommendations regarding maintenance of infrastructure. Promotion of research and innovation environment. Promotion of sports and extracurricular activities Reaching out to, and maintaining a liaison with parents and Alumni. Facilitating Conferences, Seminars, and workshops of departments, committees, and faculty. Participation in institutional rankings like NIRF, and NAAC. Ensuring access to facilities like safe drinking water, clean washrooms, medical aid, browsing facility, etc. Improve facilities for differently-abled students. The primary goal of IQAC is to adopt practices, that provide a quality learning experience to students through an effective and meaningful teaching-learning process. As a result, the academic and co-curricular endeavors of the institution are enhanced in line with its vision and mission. Therefore, IQAC meets regularly in order to review the progress laid down as its targets. The recommendations are planned on the basis of inputs received from: 1. ACADEMIC AUDIT COMMITTEE: The committee comprises a team of faculty members who monitor the academic affairs of the college by visiting departments periodically to take note of the quality and quantum of syllabi, learning outcomes, lesson plans, completion of lab coursework, attendance registers, etc, and to ensure teachers are engaging students actively in various co-curricular activities like quizzes, seminars, and workshops. 2. FEEDBACK: Feedback is collected from all stakeholders like students, parents, staff, and alumni to improve the existing teaching-learning process. A comprehensive analysis of the feedback received is done and communicated to the concerned teachers to assist them to improve upon their capacity building. Based on the above inputs, IQAC has been able to develop a system of a conscious, consistent, and catalytic action plan to bring about reforms in the teaching-learning process, structure, methodologies, and learning outcomes which is reflected as: For the completion of the curriculum, IQAC suggests the use of modern pedagogical tools like PowerPoint presentations, field trips, workshops, seminars, video lectures, etc in addition to the regular classroom teaching-learning process. Research acumen is inculcated in the students by making them part of many research-oriented programs.
