Govt. Degree College Dooru conducted painting competition on the eve of ‘International Water Day’ on 23^rd March, 2024 with the aim to aware the students about the importance of conservation of water resources. The programme was jointly organised by NSS, Department of Environmental Science, Department of Zoology and Eco Club. The theme of this year was, ‘Leveraging Water for Peace’ and was celebrated under different sub-themes. The painting competition was kickstarted by the worthy Principal, Dr. Gh. Hassan Thakur in the Conference Hall of the college. In his inaugural address he highlighted the importance of the water for the existence and sustenance of life on earth. He opined that the aim of painting competition was to create awareness about the water resource and to develop competitive culture among the students so that they are able to compete at the college, university and state level.
