Awareness Prog. on Conservation of Water Bodies by NSS

A group of 35 NSS volunteers along with faculty members were taken to world famous Dal Lake for awareness programme with regard to conservation of water bodies.



A group of 35 NSS volunteers along with faculty members were taken to world famous Dal Lake for awareness programme with regard to conservation of water bodies. The NSS Officers accompanied the volunteers to the selected site for the programme to kickstart. The aim of this programme was to highlight the importance of water bodies for the sustainable development, the current status of deterioration and future planning for the conservation. After reaching Dal Lake, students were given basic information about Dal Lake, such as its morphometry, its topography and current status of physicochemical features. The NSS officers further explained the historical importance of Dal Lake and the current socio-economic importance.
